The first ever Foamposite was released by nike in 1997 for Penny Hardaway in two different models, the Foamposite one and the Foamposite pro. With its groundbreaking design of “ liquid foam” that has grooves within the base of the shoe and the “icy blue soles”.Modeled after a sunglass case, the royal blue Foamposite, a sneaker that was met with plenty of criticism has gone on to be one of the pillar designs for Nike. These sneakers, like for Nike, were a huge pillar for me, they began my path to collecting sneakers. In 2012 at 15 I had my first job, I was always into sneakers, always fascinated by colors and designs while imagining what I would wear them with if I could get them. The time had come and I was ready, my first paycheck and I knew exactly where it was going to. The brand new gym green Foamposites, I didn't see a single sole with them ( see what i did there). My mom couldn't tell me anything, it was my first check and I could spend it how I wanted. Except I didn't have a debit card or credit card so she kinda could. I had bought them using my paypal account which for some reason her credit card was attached and not her debit card. That next month when that $250.00 charge hit her account and I didn't know why until we called paypal and they told her about my little purchase. Needless to say I went through a lot of pain for these, but I wore them everyday for a month, it was definitely worth it. Here began my love for buying sneakers so this pair will always be near and dear to my heart.
